Climate test in electronics
There are various reasons why components and PCBs are tested under climatic conditions. For example, climate tests on printed circuit boards ensure that they function reliably under specific environmental conditions (heat, cold, humidity). These stress tests are primarily performed on safety-relevant components, e.g. for automotive, aerospace or medical technology applications.
In the burn-in test, components or electronic assemblies, e.g. from the automotive industry, are subjected to a climatic profile in the cold and high temperature range as well as humidity and checked by a test system during this process. This ensures that the electronic components and printed circuit boards meet the high requirements for reliability and stability. The stress during the life cycle of the component can thus be imitated and possible problems and failures in the later operation of the products can be avoided.

Burn-in test in electronics production
For our customer from the automotive industry, we developed a burn-in test that tests particularly delicate electronic components for quality and resilience. The components were not allowed to be touched by hand. With sequences and fixtures specially adapted to the components, we were able to provide a customized solution to all of our customer's requirements. In this case, a line with a robotic cell took over the handling and insertion into the holder, which could then be moved into the oven for burn-in testing. After the inspection process, the robotic cell again handles and sorts the components.
