Testing PCBs
Printed circuit boards are one of the main components of electronic devices and are therefore often installed in safety-relevant devices. This makes it all the more important to ensure the quality of the printed circuit boards. The printed circuit board test or PCB test performs this quality check. PCBs are checked for production errors and functionality after assembly.
The function-independent test of the PCBs checks for errors on the PCB, such as soldering errors using a resistance measurement, independently of the application context.
In the functional test, the PCB is contacted with test needles at certain test points. As PCBs are assembled differently and have different properties and shapes, a special test adapter with the appropriate test points is required for the functional test. This is the only way the PCB can be tested at all.
A test system is then used to test the functionality of the PCB. For example, it is tested whether digital signals are transmitted or whether there are voltage interruptions.

At Pematech, we integrate PCB tests as in-circuit tests directly into our customized test and assembly lines or at the end of the production process as end-of-line tests.
We also use various functional tests in our test and assembly lines to check the functionality of PCBs.
In the climatic test (run-in test), the PCBs can also be tested in our lines under various climatic conditions.
